MASC believes student councils are only as good as their trained advisors. Our Association holds professional development for advisors over a Sunday/Monday in October. Two different sessions will be available this year to accommodate travel and conference restrictions that may be in place for school districts across our state.

New(er) Advisors will have a special session from 9:00 am - Noon on Sunday, October 11, 2026.  This is for advisors that are brand new or in their first few years of working with student council.  We will cover council organizations, constitutions, elections, and council policies that can make your job easier.  This is a great way to connect with other new advisors that are having the same experiences you are.

We encourage new(er) advisors to stay for the entirety of the Advisors Conference on Sunday afternoon/evening and Monday (most stay).  It will be a full weekend of professional development, idea sharing and resources.
